Carrie has over 20 years of experience in the food & beverage industry, beginning with her Culinary Education from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she also earned a BS in Food Service Entrepreneurship.
From there, she managed beverage programs for casinos along the east coast, including Mohegan Sun, Hollywood, and Parx Casino. Overseeing all beer, cocktail, and wine selections gave her the opportunity to taste wines from all over the world, and cemented her love and passion for the wine industry.
Carrie began pursuing wine education in 2012, earning a multitude of certifications. She is a Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators, and is nearing the completion of her Diploma in Wine from the WSET. She now has her eyes set on becoming a Certified Wine Educator, and is half way done to reaching her goal!
Carrie lives in Carlisle, Pa, with her husband, Adam, and two young boys. They enjoy working on restoring their 1860 Farm house, gardening, and tending to their chickens, bees, and koi.
Despite years of studying and being successful in exams, Carrie finds the world of wine to sometimes be a little overwhelming.
She first started breaking down the content and organizing it in a simple, easy to follow format, to help her learn and prepare for exams.
She found that this format wasn't just easier for her, but also for all of the staff that she was training on different wines and regions.
And so began her venture in wine education, where she continues to simplify the overwhelming world of wine, making it easy and enjoyable for everyone!
